Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hiltonwill undergo an MRI on his injured knee after leaving Sunday's season-opening loss to Buffalo.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said after Indianapolis' 27-14 loss that an X-ray on Hilton's knee was negative but acknowledged that the team's top receiver could miss some time.

"A really bad bruise, but it looks like we're going to do an MRI," Irsay said. "But the X-ray was negative.

"It looks like he may miss some time, but it doesn't look like it's anything real serious."

Hilton said he expects to receive an update regarding the extent of his injury on Monday.

"I'll be all right," he said. "I just have to get into the training room and see what's up."

Hilton had seven catches for 88 yards before his injury. The team announced that he was getting an X-ray on his knee.

Hilton has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, including a career-best 1,345 yards in 2014.

ESPN Colts reporter Mike Wells and The Associated Press contributed to this report.
