OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE CHANCES OF WINNING
I. NAME OF SPONSOR(S)
WABC-TV, located at 7 Lincoln Square, New York, NY 10023) ("Sponsor").
II. ELIGIBILITY
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older as of date of entry and legal resident of New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.
Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Sponsor and any organizations responsible for sponsoring, judging, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest or supplying the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or play. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.
III. HOW AND WHEN TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
Contest Entry Period: "Favorite Running Coach" Contest entry period begins at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 (the "Contest Period"). Sponsor's computer is the official clock for this Contest.

("Website"). There you will find instructions on the appropriate and acceptable file formats and sizes for submitting your entry electronically.
Entry: Submit an essay of up to one hundred (100) words in length explaining the story of how someone you know ("Nominee") is your Favorite Running Coach.
You warrant and represent that all of the material submitted by you in your Entry is truthful, original to you (and not based on or derived from any other materials), that you own all necessary rights in and to the material in the Entry which is fully transferable without the need for permission from or payment to any other party and that the exercise of the rights set forth in the Contest Rules by the Sponsor will not violate or otherwise infringe upon any third party rights and will not violate any contractual obligations or confidential relationships which you may have to or with any third party. Any entries submitted with inappropriate, illegal or offensive content will be immediately disqualified. You warrant and represent that you have the Nominee's permission to share their personal information as part of your entry. Your Entry must be submitted in English. You should not include any third-party logos, brands, products or trademarks in your Entry. No Entry may be submitted in any other contest or promotion.
Upon submission, you will see a thank you message on your screen indicating that you have successfully entered. You will not receive a further acknowledgement. Free internet access is available at most public libraries.
Limit one (1) entry per person/email address during Contest period. Entries remain the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.
Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Proof of entering information at the Contest website or registration form is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of such entry. Personal information collected in connection with this Contest will be used in accordance with Sponsor's privacy policy, available at http://corporate.disney.go.com/corporate/pp.html
IV. HOW AND WHEN WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED
Judging Procedure, Notification and Finalists Judging: Eligible entries will be judged by a panel of judges selected by designated staff of Sponsor to determine one winner based on the entrant's ability to demonstrate the following Judging Criteria: Overall basis/Performance of Nominee's Contribution to their Community (75%) and Most Compelling Presentation of Entry (25%). One winner will be selected and notified. In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest score for contribution to their community will be the Winner.
The Nominee with the highest-scoring entry ("Potential Winner") will be notified by Sponsor staff on or about Friday, October 22, 2021. Potential Winner will be required to complete, sign and return within two (2) business days of transmission, an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Indemnification, and a Publicity Release where allowed by law, W-9 Form and any other documentation required by Sponsor (collectively, "Verification Documents").
The Potential Winner will be notified by phone and/or email that they have been selected for the prize. The Potential Winner has forty-eight (48) hours to acknowledge and respond to the notification of Sponsor's selection of their entry as the Potential Winner. Upon satisfaction of all rules and conditions, Potential Winner will be declared the official Winner and may accept the prize.
Failure to respond to the initial verification phone call and/or e-mail within forty-eight (48) hours after initial notification to the Potential Winner or return of the e-mail notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and award of the prize to an alternate winner. In the event the Potential Winner is deemed ineligible, or fails to comply with Contest procedures, then the entrant with the second-highest scoring entry will be selected as the next Potential Winner, time permitting, or Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the Contest at their discretion, if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill the Prize as originally planned.
V. PRIZE(S)
One (1) winner will receive:
Marathon Prize Pack including one (1) entry into the 2022 TCS NYC Marathon and various related merchandise. Approximate Retail Value of prize package is $1,000.
Marathon entry may be subject to 2022 eligibility and/or any restrictions. All expenses not specifically provided for herein are the winner's sole responsibility.
If an entry is selected as the Winner, the Nominee will be awarded the prize on behalf of the entrant who submitted the entry. The Nominee will be contacted and complete the Verification Documents.
By accepting the prize, the Winner acknowledges that they may be featured on ABC7 NY Eyewitness News and/or Hospital for Special Surgery platforms.
Winner may be interviewed by WABC-TV and/or Hospital for Special Surgery and may be featured in content distributed across on-air, digital and/or social platforms at the sole discretion of Sponsor without further consent. Winner may be requested to be available for an interview to be conducted at WABC-TV's and/or Hospital for Special Surgery's discretion.
Any appearance on WABC-TV and/or Hospital for Special Surgery platforms is subject to availability. Neither Sponsor nor Hospital for Special Surgery is responsible for cancellation or preemption of show/contest/segment or for other circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill this element of the prize. The appearance portion of the prize has no approximate retail value and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this or any element, Sponsor's only obligation will be to provide the remainder of prize, if any.
No cash alternative or Prize substitutions will be allowed, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize or portions thereof of equal or greater value if a prize listed or any portion thereof is unavailable for any reason.
All federal, state and/or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Winner, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the actual final retail value of the Prize.
VI. RELEASES
By participating in this Contest, the entrants agree to be: (a) bound by these official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final in all respects; and (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Hospital for Special Surgery, New York Road Runners, Inc. and their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, licensees, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Contest and/or acceptance or use of the Prize.
By accepting a prize, Winner grants Sponsor, Hospital for Special Surgery, and their respective designees a right to use his/her name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, in any media now known or hereafter created or conceived, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner's list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Neither Sponsor nor Hospital for Special Surgery is obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor or Hospital for Special Surgery's sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.
By submitting materials hereunder, you hereby grant to the Sponsor, Hospital for Special Surgery, their respective parents, subsidiaries, licensees and affiliated companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, servants, representatives, shareholders and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assignees the exclusive right to use and distribute your submission, as well as your or your nominee's likeness, picture, voice, name and biographical material (all such materials are sometimes collectively referred to as the "Materials") in any and all manner, methods, formats and media now known or hereafter created, including without limitation, all forms of television, radio, internet, cable, satellite, wireless applications, home video products and devices, etc., in connection with the Contest, Sponsor's programming, and in all advertising and promotion for the foregoing, throughout the universe, in perpetuity.
Entrants acknowledge that any entry materials may be included and/or discussed in a broadcast, that such discussion may include statements or opinions by the broadcast talent or others about the entrants, the entrants' appearances and/or the materials, and that those statements and opinions may be considered surprising, humiliating, embarrassing, derogatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive or injurious to them, Sponsor's employees, their studio or at-home audience and/or other third parties. entrants, including their nominees, release the Released Parties from any actions, claims, injury, loss or damage allegedly caused, directly or indirectly, by any such statements or opinions made during a broadcast.
Sponsor is not responsible for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. No responsibility is assumed for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Contest. In the event of a dispute over an electronic entry, prize will be awarded to the owner of the e-mail account, not the name on the entry form.
None of the Released Parties will have any liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including but not limited to personal injury or death, caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize or participation in prize-related activities.
Winner acknowledges that neither Sponsor nor its agents have made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize, if any, are subject to the manufacturer's terms therefore and winner agrees to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee.
To claim prize: (a) Prize Winner must provide proof of age, identity and residency; (b) sign and return required affidavits of eligibility/compliance with rules, publicity/liability release and indemnification, and (c) complete and submit any additional releases, indemnifications and other requisite paperwork as specified at the discretion of the Sponsor, all within the time period specified by Sponsor.
VII. MISCELLANEOUS; WINNER LIST
Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the Contest in the event of tampering or other circumstances, including but not limited to acts of God or civil disturbance that render it impractical or impossible to complete or fulfill the Contest as originally planned.

All issues and questions concerning the construction,validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and/or Released Parties in connection with theContest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without regard for conflicts of law doctrine of New York or any other jurisdiction.
