NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A 9-year-old child was injured in a shooting in Newark on Wednesday when an argument escalated between two teenaged girls.
The shooting happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Holiday Court.
Police say the victim's 15-year-old sister and a 16-year-old girl got into a fight.
The 16-year-old along with another man then walked into the victim's home where shots were fired.
The child was hit in the leg and foot and suffered a non-life-threatening injury. She was taken to University Hospital for treatment.
Police said the 16-year-old girl is in custody. Police continue their search for the man who was with her.
