Amber Alert canceled for 9-year-old girl

PHILLIPSBURG, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police have canceled an Amber Alert for Sophia Salazar, 9, of Phillipsburg, N.Y.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department were investigating the abduction that occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday near Cold Spring, in Phillipstown, N.Y. The Amber Alert was issued around 11 a.m. It is unclear where Sophia is or how she was found.

Police were looking for Luisa Salazar, a Hispanic female, 37, with long, brown hair with blond highlights and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 160 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing gray sweatpants. According to New York State troopers, the suspect is bipolar, off medication and delusional.
