NEW YORK (WABC) -- The president's physician says President Donald Trump was treated with a steroid after a drop in oxygen levels on Saturday.

Dr. Sean Conley said at a news conference on Sunday that he was given the steroid dexamethasone while he was hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Conley said the president's oxygen level had dropped down to 93% on Saturday. He says the president did not feel short of breath.

He says the president's medical team is hoping Trump will be up and about, out of bed and eating and drinking throughout the day.

If he continues to improve and feel well, he could be released as soon as Monday.

President Donald Trump says he feels "much better now," but that doctors are working to get him "all the way back," in a video posted to his personal Twitter account Saturday night.

The White House doctor said President Trump received an experimental antibody cocktail and remains 'fatigued' after COVID-19 diagnosis.

The stunning announcement plunges the country deeper into uncertainty just a month before the presidential election. Trump, who has spent much of the year downplaying the threat of a virus that has killed more than 205,000 Americans, said he and Mrs. Trump were quarantining.

Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden underwent PCR testing for COVID-19 on Friday and COVID-19 was not detected, their doctor said.
