NY teacher dies in kayaking accident

YONKERS Just two weeks ago, fellow educators and students were smiling with Chris Miller, a beloved teacher. Now, they are mourning his sudden death.

Miller was killed Tuesday while kayaking with his brother on the Brandywine creek near Philadelphia.

Investigators say the men plunged over a dam in rain-swollen waters.

Chris' body was recovered. His brother Chad, a Presbyterian minister in Delaware has not been found.

Chris Miller taught at EF International School in Tarrytown.

There students from around the world learn to speak English. Miller incorporated his passion for international affairs as a teaching tool.

Miller was 28 years old and lived in Yonkers with his wife. He was originally from the Midwest, but colleagues say his loss is being felt around the world.

Funeral services for the brothers will be held in Iowa. But there will be a memorial service for Chris Miller on campus next week.
