REVIEW: 'G-Force'

Rated: PG (Some mild action and rude humor.)
I must admit that I was not in a hurry to see "G-Force."

I'm a fan of live action films as well as "good" animated films. However, "G-Force" is a mixture of live action and computer animation, and as such, I was a little leery about going in.

It turns out that a movie about CG super spy guinea pigs wasn't a bad idea at all.

Armed with the latest high-tech spy equipment, a covert team of highly-trained guinea pigs discovers that the fate of the world is in their paws. Tapped for the G-FORCE are guinea pigs Darwin -- the squad leader determined to succeed at all costs, Blaster -- an outrageous weapons expert with tons of attitude and a love for all things extreme and Juarez -- a sexy martial arts pro. Don't forget the literal fly-on-the-wall reconnaissance expert Mooch.

I was pleasantly surprised at how I became so interested in each of the characters. I was even more surprised at the actors behind the voices. With the likes of Nicholas Cage Tracy Morgan & Penelope Cruz, I was really impressed with the characters as well as the action.

The story remained fairly intriguing until an unexpected plot twist toward the end. I didn't expect the twist because, for the most part, it didn't make sense.

I kept thinking to myself "Why would they do this? Things were going so well up until this point."

My six- and eight-year-old daughters, however, didn't seem to mind it a bit, and thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

A good comparison would be "Spy Kids."
