Rescuers frantically attempted to pull out the worker from under the crane.
Northbound lanes were closed for the emergency activity, but they have since reopened.
The bridge, which connects Queens and the Bronx, was the site of July 10 fire that led officials to close a northbound lane and ban trucks for several weeks.
The lane reopened on Aug. 10, but further repair and construction work was to last into the fall.
