Cars vandalized in multiple Long Island towns

LONG ISLAND Drivers woke up to damaged cars with smashed windows.

The discoveries were made in Bellport, Medford, Yaphank, and Patchogue.

Angry car owners had to clean up the mess after someone with a bat smashed dozens of car windows.

A maddening inconvenience for the victims, many of whom forced to take off work after a senseless act of vandalism.

Police are trying to get a handle on how many cars were hit.

There is no description on a suspect, but some neighbors say they saw a dark car driving away from the scene with what sounded like a faulty muffler.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk Police Department.
