The 24-year-old disappeared after being released in the middle of the night from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lost Hills-Malibu station in 2009.
Her remains were found in a Malibu canyon nearly one year later.
Her parents sued the department, seeking damages for alleged negligence and infliction of emotional distress.
The Richardsons have not said whether they will accept the settlement.
