NEW YORK (WABC) -- A teen driver charged with Manslaughter in the traffic death of 4-year-old Ariel Russo has been charged with looting a dead woman's apartment.

The New York Daily News reported Saturday that prosecutors in Manhattan charged 18-year-old Franklin Reyes on petit larceny charges Friday.

The newspaper says his 45-year-old father was charged on similar charges last month. The father declined to comment to the tabloid.

Authorities say the two took more than $2,000 worth of jewelry, cash and wine from the apartment of an elderly tenant who had recently died of brain cancer.

The teenage Reyes was charged with manslaughter after his SUV jumped a curb on June 4, 2013, and killed Ariel as she stood with her grandmother at W. 97th St. and Amsterdam Ave.
