PHILADELPHIA -- RAIR: Recycled Artist in Residency. Artists, embedded in a NE Philadelphia trash dump, are creating works of art from pieces of trash.

Revolution Recovery, a construction and demolition waste recycling facility, processes 550 tons of material daily, a gold mine for the artists who take up residence there, rent-free.

And both the non-profit artist group and the for-profit dump have a sustainability mission.

RAIR wants people to think about how much they consume and how much they waste, while Revolution Recovery commits to diverting 50% of its waste from landfill.
