ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- A fire in Atlantic City, New Jersey has destroyed several businesses and left seventeen people displaced late Tuesday night.
The blaze broke out around 11:15 p.m. in the AC Alterations business on the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Officials say the blaze quickly spread to adjoining businesses with apartments on the second floors.
Crews battled the multi-alarm fire as the roof collapsed in one of the buildings.
17 people, including 6 children were displaced.
They all managed to get out of the buildings safely.
The Red Cross is assisting the victims.
Firefighters are still working to get the blaze under control.
There is no official word on what sparked the blaze.
The fire is under investigation.
