Cool technology: Watch robotic garage park a car

HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- Parking technology is now paving the way to get out of having to tip the valet.

Automated parking garages, or robotic garages, are starting to pop up in the New York area and other cities across the country.

The concept is simple -- pull your car into the garage bay, exit the vehicle and check in with the kiosk and you're good to go. The car is then lifted onto a platter and whisked away to an available spot.

When you're ready to get back behind the wheel, you just have to swipe in to the kiosk and your car should be back in the bay in about five minutes.
