STAPLETON, Staten Island (WABC) -- It was an unusual bank robbery in Staten Island on Monday as a man robbed a bank while dressed as a woman, and now the FBI and NYPD need your help finding the suspect.

The FBI/NYPD Joint Violent Crimes Task Force released surveillance video and photos on Wednesday from the robbery of a Santander Bank in the Stapleton section of Staten Island.

Investigators say the man walked into the bank wearing a silver and black formal dress, silver high heels, a black hat, and sunglasses. He then pulled out a silver handgun during the robbery.

Surveillance video from a nearby deli following the robbery shows the suspect pulling off the dress and heels. He was then seen wearing plaid shorts, blue and white Nike Jordan sneakers, and no shirt.

The suspect is believed to be about 5'8" to 5'10", about 175 pounds, and may have scarring around his mouth.

Police say that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you have any information regarding the robbery, you can contact the New York FBI office at 212-384-5000 or the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-8477.
