WESTFIELD, N.J. (WABC) -- Police believe a mother bear and her cub are roaming a couple of neighborhoods in New Jersey.

One hundred fifty pounds of cuteness, the bear cub couldn't have appeared more calm or peaceful as it feasted on birdseed in the backyard of a home on New Providence Road in Mountainside, N.J.

"It's really cool. It's right there. I can't believe it," said resident Jeff Aranjo.

Mountainside police said they have been tracking the cub and its mother since Wednesday. They appeared again Thursday morning.

Newscopter 7 spotted one of them in nearby South Westfield.

At one point, police confined the cub to a wooded area near Route 22 near a recreation and sports complex.
