EXCLUSIVE: NYPD Commissioner thanks traffic officers
Mallory Hoff has the story from Midtown.

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police Commissioner William Bratton made a special appearance at the Traffic Enforcement Division's roll call on Thursday morning.

Commissioner Bratton was there with Chief O'Neill to personally thank the traffic agents who kept the streets safe during the blizzard, and in the days that followed.

While most residents were at home, traffic agents were at work, or on call managing the streets as conditions worsened.

"They are an extraordinary group of women - all three-thousand of them," said the Commissioner.

Those words of thanks - to a group dedicated to keeping the streets safe, not only in recent days, but all year round.

After Bratton attended roll call at the Traffic Enforcement Division, he took a "productive early morning walk" through the Times Square subway station to discuss crime with Chief of Department James O'Neill.
