EDENWALD, Bronx (WABC) -- One man died after a double shooting in the Edenwald section the Bronx Friday, then unsuccessfully tried to get to the hospital.
The incident was on Baychester Avenue just before 5:45 a.m.
A 55-year-old man was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center. Police later identified him as Lionel Samuel of Gunther Avenue in the Bronx.
A 54-year-old man was shot in the leg. He is expected to survive.
The victims had been stopped at a red light when the occupants of a white vehicle opened fire on them and sped away.
They were found in their 2007 Honda, which had crashed into a tree. They were attempting to drive to Montefiore Hospital.
The two were taken to Jacobi.
No arrests were made and the shooting is under investigation.
