1 killed, 1 hurt in Bruckner crash in Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- A car careened onto the Bruckner Expressway in Soundview section, killing the driver and injuring a passenger.

Wendell Cheeseboro, 29, of the Bronx, lost control of his 2006 Dodge Charger on the northbound Bruckner Expressway near exit 52. The car crashed into the center median around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Cheeseboro was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital.

A 26-year-old man in the car with him was treated for a broken arm and leg at Jacobi Hospital.

The driver was believed to be speeding at the time of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
