Woodbridge, NJ (WABC) -- Five teens have been arrested after police say they stole a vehicle out of a driveway in the Avenel section of Woodbridge early Thursday morning.

Responding officers spotted the stolen vehicle, a Buick LaSabre, parked further down the road. They say the suspects entered two separate vehicles, a Jeep Cherokee and Saturn Station Wagon, and fled the scene.

The suspects in the Jeep lost control and slid into a snow bank before attempting to flee on foot, and three of the four suspects in that vehicle were apprehended by officers a short time after. Two loaded handguns were recovered at the scene.

The suspects in the Saturn continued down Route 1 South and headed north on the Garden State Parkway before their car crashed into another vehicle at the Union Toll Plaza, when the two suspects attempted to flee the scene on foot.

Hillside police officers apprehended the suspects and took them into custody. Their vehicle was recently reported stolen out of East Orange.

All of the suspects -- one female and four males -- are juveniles, ages 14 to 17, from Newark, Orange and Irvington.
