MIDTOWN MANHATTAN (WABC) -- One of New York City's iconic eateries re-opened Wednesday after a ten-month closure.
The Carnegie Deli had been closed since April as it dealt with a number of issues, including an illegal gas hookup.
As a welcome back present, customers who dine in are receiving a free slice of cheesecake with any entree or sandwich.
The city's Buildings Department fined the restaurant $2600, and ordered it to close after Con Ed found a diverted gas line while investigating a leak.
The owner says repairs took longer than expected.
