NEW YORK (WABC) -- The doctor who was New York City's Medical Examiner on 9/11 has died.
Charles Hirsch was noted for rushing to Lower Manhattan on September 11th to set up a temporary morgue.
Hirsch and his staff worked for years to identify the remains of more than two thousand victims.
Hirsch was appointed in 1989, and retired in 2013, serving more than 20 years. He was 79.
