COLUMBUS CIRCLE, Manhattan (WABC) -- There was a gathering in Manhattan Thursday night to show refugees from the Mideast, that to many New Yorkers, they are indeed welcome here.
Hundreds of people took part in this show of support in Columbus Circle for Syrian and Iraqi refugees.
The demonstrators say they reject the wave of Islamophobia and xenophobia that has swept much of the nation.
They're calling on the US government to accept more refugees.
