COPIAGUE, Long Island (WABC) -- A teenager is expected to appear in court in Suffolk County Saturday, accusing of accidentally shooting his friend.

Late Friday night, Suffolk County police announced an arrest in the death of Copiague High School senior Wilson Gil-Torres. His friend, 18-year-old Nefi Reyes, was arrested and charged with second degree manslaughter.

Nefi Reyes:

According to Suffolk County Police Department, Reyes was at home on Great Neck Road in Copiague around 12:30 Friday when he pointed a handgun at his friend, Gil-Torres, and the weapon discharged. Gil-Torres, 18, was hit in the torso.

Gil-Torres, of Copiague, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

Copiague High School, which was briefly placed on modified lockdown as police investigated, is about a quarter-mile from the scene.

Gil-Torres' friends lit candles during a vigil to remember him.
