MILFORD, CT -- After a fluke accident this summer, Danielle Kemp was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The 19-year-old was playing in a July softball game when she was hit by a pitch while at bat.
She experienced double vision, dizziness and had coordination and balance problems, prompting her to go to the doctor thinking she had a concussion. Doctors found through an MRI that she had a rare, inoperable brain tumor.
Kemp is now undergoing intense radiation therapy.
Her community has started a GoFundMe page for Kemp, which has so far raised more than $90,000.
News12 reports that a salon called Hair Forever is selling bracelets that say "Danni Strong #8" on them, and the business says it is planning a fundraiser for her at the end of September.
Kemp a few years ago was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease, which is now in remission.
