In a dramatic turn of events in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday, Trump was abruptly called to the witness stand.
The judge in the civil fraud trial fined the former president $10,000 for violating a gag order.

Meanwhile in Washington, after three weeks of gridlock, the House of Representatives finally elected a new speaker in Rep. Mike Johnson.
The congressman from Louisiana has been in Congress since 2016. He voted to overturn the 2020 election, and led efforts to overturn results in court.
He served on Donald Trump's legal defense team during his two Senate trials on impeachment charges. He supports a nationwide abortion ban, and he has voted in the past against aid to Ukraine.
ABC's Em Nguyen joined Extra Time from Washington with a dramatic day on the hill.
