Tyra Banks brings FABLife show to ABC
Entertainment reporter Sandy Kenyon has a preview of the new show FABLife, featuring a panel led by Tyra Banks.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- There is something new in your daytime lineup starting Monday, because Tyra Banks is back, and she's bringing her friends to talk about everything from fashion to food to home design.

Her company is called Bankable Productions for a reason, as Banks has managed to parlay her fame on the catwalk to a TV career in front of and behind the cameras. Her search for "America's Next Top Model" made her a fortune, and now she's looking to help you.

"Fun and Beautiful," or "Fab" for short, is a great description for the five co-hosts of Fab-Life, which Tyra Banks promises will be different from similar shows already on the air.

"I'm obsessed with like twisting it up, shaking it up," she said. "That's my producing style...like if we've seen it before, back up, redo it."

Each panelist offers a different expertise.

"I have this passion for cooking," co-host Chrissy Tiegen said. "I really like to get people in the kitchen who have never cooked before and are maybe a little terrified to cook."

The panel is diverse and dedicated to a simple idea - perfect is boring, because it's predictable.

"And we are all here to make your lives pop," Banks said. "We are hooking you up with tools to live the best life that you can because you deserve that."

The show's resident fashionista is Joe Zee.

"And I think what I've always done is take the idea of fashion and make it fun," he said.

Lauren Makk is an interior designer.

"I've had over thousands of clients in my tenure, and they've all been regular people," she said. "They're not in mansions, and they're not superstars."

Leah Ashley will show you how to do it yourself, and she's one of a new generation of stars who first gained fame on social media.

"I think (social media) is huge, and what's so great about this show is we have so, such a great social following already," she said.

They promise ideas from followers will be incorporated into the show, which surely will draw viewers based on Banks' name. But then, it must stand on the efforts of her entire team.

Banks says a person's imperfections are what makes him or her interesting, and lest you think she doesn't have any, the former model is happy to tell you her forehead is too high, at least in her opinion.

"Fab life" airs at 2 p.m. on Channel 7, in between "The Chew" and "General Hospital."
