LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Cereal isn't just for breakfast. At Milk and Cream Cereal Bar in the Lower East Side, cereal takes center stage in its sweet treats. Cory Ng, one of the owners said, "We infuse cereal ice cream. We have cereal milkshakes or your classic cereal bowl."
Customers decide what they want, select the ice cream flavor and then add toppings. Ng said, "Ice cream and desserts, it's a piece of happiness for people. When you serve it, people are in their happy place."
Mike Chau aka @foodbabyny, the mastermind behind an incredibly successful food blog and Instagram account, included MIlk and Cream Cereal Bar during a recent eating tour with abc7ny. Chau said, "It's like childhood here. He had cereal ice cream with Fruity Pebbles and gummy bears. He called the creation "delicious."
Their desserts are a big hit on Instagram. "For us it's about the shareability, " said Ng. He added, "The best form of advertising isn't a commercial you see. It's your friend going to a place and saying Dave. Where'd you get this? This is awesome. I saw it on Instagram. Nothing is better than hearing from your own friend who went."
