Man arrested in fatal Brooklyn hit-and-run on Gerritsen

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police have arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run incident that happened early Saturday morning.



Just before 3 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a call in the 2700 block of Gerritsen Avenue in Brooklyn where they found Bryan Loughran, 32, of Brooklyn, unconscious with severe injuries. He was taken to Beth Israel Hospital where he was pronounced dead.



Michael Casale, 50, was southbound in a Chrysler on Gerritsen when he struck Loughran who was crossing the road, according to a New York City Police Department report. Police said he fled the scene, but was arrested at his home at 5 a.m. The vehicle was recovered on Frank Court, between Cyrus Avenue and Bartlett Place.



Casale is charged with leaving an accident resulting in death and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
