Man shot in Hempstead, drives into home, later dies

HEMPSTEAD (WABC) -- A man driving an SUV on Circle Drive Friday was shot and later died after crashing into a home, police said.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, around 11 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot on Chase Street. The victim then got into a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse and drove away, later running into a home on Rose Avenue.

He was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No one in the home was injured, but it was damaged.
