Suspect arrested after hostage situation in Jamaica

JAMAICA (WABC) -- There are new details about a standoff between police and a home invasion suspect in Queens.

Police say 35-year-old Edward Leger broke into a home in Jamaica Monday morning and stole several hundred dollars.

Officers responded as he was escaping.

So police say he broke into another home and barricaded himself in there with three hostages for nearly four hours.

He finally let the hostages go and was arrested.
