Queens Islamic center burglarized; $1,500 was stolen

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- Police are looking for a suspect in the burglary of a Queens Islamic center.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, someone went into the Islamic Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Crescent Street through a rear door.

The suspect pried the donation box open with a tool. An office door also was forced open and additional money was removed from inside a desk drawer.

According to the New York City Police Department, $1,500 in cash was taken.
