NEW YORK (WABC) -- Go crazy, New York. Or, perhaps more accurately, crazier.

The red-hot Knicks are coming home just two wins away from an NBA championship more than a half-century in the making.

Jalen Brunson hit a go-ahead free throw with 9.5 seconds left after a turnover by Victor Wembanyama moments earlier, then Wembanyama missed a jumper at the end of New York's 105-104 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night for a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

New York joined the 1993 Chicago Bulls and 1995 Houston Rockets as the only teams to win the first two games of the Finals on the road. Both of those clubs came away as champions.

The series moves to Madison Square Garden for the next 2 games. Game 3 is Monday night at 8:30 p.m. and Game 4 is Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. Both games are on ABC 7.

Knicks announce enhanced security measures for fans with Trump attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals

The New York Knicks are warning fans to bring as little as possible to Game 3 of the NBA Finals and encouraging them to arrive at least two hours before tipoff as part of enhanced security measures with President Donald Trump attending the game.

The Knicks said Saturday that a strict no-bag policy will be in place and that there would be "TSA-style screening procedures" for fans when they enter Madison Square Garden for the game that is scheduled to begin just after 8:40 p.m. EDT.

Trump is a longtime Knicks fan who confirmed Friday that he would attend the first NBA Finals game in New York since 1999. He has already attended a number of major sporting events in his second term, including the 2025 Super Bowl, Daytona 500 and Ryder Cup.

The Knicks said there would be no storage at MSG for prohibited items brought to the arena. A list of them is available at https://www.secretservice.gov/prohibiteditems.

Donald Trump, Knicks fan, heads back to New York to root on his team

There was a time when Donald Trump was just another celebrity sitting courtside at New York Knicks games. He was famous, but not yet flanked by Secret Service agents or defined by the politics that have left him deeply unpopular in his hometown.

Now, more than a decade after attending his last Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, Trump is making a rare trip back to New York City as president to cheer for them in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. Invited by Knicks owner James Dolan, he will be the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game.

The Knicks are seeking their first championship since 1973, when Trump was 26 and a relative newcomer to the family real estate business that vaulted him to wealth and fame. Two years after that triumph, the team's owners at the time hired him as a consultant as they looked to sell the arena.
