Live Updates: Nor'easter hits with damaging winds, coastal flooding

Officials in Newark, New Jersey have released a traffic advisory for drivers due to anticipated street flooding.

New Jersey previously declared a State of Emergency due to the potential for flash flooding, severe thunderstorms, intense rainfall, and damaging wind gusts.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. is now advising drivers to exercise caution and avoid the following areas:

"Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials. For fire safety, please utilize flashlights instead of candles should you lose electricity due to this weather event," the Newark Department of Public Safety also advises residents.

New York City is taking measures ahead of the looming nor'easter. Across the Tri-State area, communities are preparing for heavy wind, rain and coastal flooding. Marcus Solis reports.
