More than 1,000 flights have been cancelled so far Sunday as airlines work to recover operations from Saturday's thunderstorms impacting travel in the Northeast.
Major airlines have issued travel waivers which allows passengers to reschedule their flights without any extra fees if they were scheduled to travel Saturday or Sunday.
Delta has also issued a travel waiver for the Atlanta area for travelers flying Sunday and Monday in anticipation of the thunderstorms forecasted for that region.
The FAA has also warned of possible delays this evening due to the thunderstorms in the Southeast.
