FLORAL PARK, Long Island (WABC) -- A high school security guard on Long Island is now under arrest after he is accused of sexually assaulting a student.

Police in Nassau County say Daniel Valenzuela, 22, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old student from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park.

School officials tell Eyewitness News the alleged assaults did not happen inside the school, but police would not confirm any locations.

Authorities say there were several assaults between June and October.

Police are now looking for other possible young victims.

School officials say Valenzuela was dismissed on October 1.

"As you may be aware, a former security guard at Sewanhaka High School was arrested last week," Superintendent James Grossane said in a statement. "This individual had been vetted and cleared through all of the rigorous steps in our hiring process and we are appalled by these disturbing allegations. We have conducted our own internal investigation on this matter and at this time have found no evidence to suggest any criminal activity took place on school grounds. Student safety and security is and always will be the district's top priority. As this is an on-going investigation, the district cannot provide further details, and will cooperate with the Nassau County Police Department in any way necessary."
