Police: Man kicked in Long Island fight comes back wielding machete

FREEPORT -- Police arrested a Long Island man for allegedly hitting another man with a machete after a fight.

According to detectives, Alfred Santiago, 36, of Freeport, had been involved in an altercation with several other males Saturday night in front of 90B Broadway.

After getting kicked several times by the men, police say Santiago went home, retrieved a machete and went back to the same location.

He located one of the males, 23, who had kicked him earlier, and then struck him on the hand with the machete, according to police

The victim, who suffered a laceration to the hand, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

Santiago is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.
