The two men were attacked with a machete early Tuesday morning, police say. The suspect fled.
According to a complaint, Trevor Bickford told investigators he was unsuccessful in his attack because none of the officers died.
A man with a machete was shot in the chest and was taken to the hospital where he is said to be stable.
Trevor Bickford faces up to 120 years in prison for the New Year's Eve attack.
Some were hacked to death with machetes while others died when their dormitories were set on fire, said military spokesman Felix Kulayigye.
The injured officers have fully recovered, and all three are now back on the job.
