NEW YORK (WABC) -- In a year full of commuting issues on the LIRR, yet another has hit the rail system during rush hour on Tuesday night.

Thanks to signal trouble east of Jamaica Station, trains were seeing delays of 20 to 30 minutes system wide according to the MTA.

As of 9 p.m., delays ranged from 10 to 25 minutes on the Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma branches, along with the Montauk branch facing delays of as much as 50 minutes.

Tuesday night's signal problems followed a morning that featured a derailed train on the Long Beach branch that caused headaches for commuters.

Governor Cuomo has scheduled a speech called "Transforming the LIRR" for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
