Man apparently falls to his death at Madison Square Garden Goose concert

MANHATTAN -- A man apparently fell to his death at Madison Square Garden Saturday night during a Goose concert.

The NYPD says officers responded to a 911 call for an injured male inside the arena. They say a 51-year-old man was unconscious and unresponsive "with injuries indicative of falling from an elevated position."

The man was later pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital. Police say they are still investigating how the incident unfolded. They say the victim was with his wife when he apparently fell.

Goose, a jam-rock band from Connecticut, released a statement on social media.

"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight's show. We extend out deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support."
