NORTH BERGEN, N.J. -- A New Jersey native who always wanted to open a business in his home state is living out his dream and helping provide health care to a community in need.

Raj Khettry recently opened his second AFC/Doctors Express urgent care in North Bergen.

Khettry says his staff is able to treat anyone who walks through the door, whether they have insurance or not.

"A lot of the residents either don't go to the doctor when they are sick, or hold out until they have no choice and land in the ER. Going to our urgent care can cost a lot less plus the waiting time to see a doctor is a fraction of what you'd find at the emergency room," Khettry said.

The average wait time to see the attending physician at AFC/Doctors Express is only 15 - 20 minutes. Khettry says in addition to fast, affordable treatment, the majority of his staff is bilingual and they are filling a void for the large Hispanic community of North Bergen.

"Our doctors, nurses and technicians are able to speak directly to many of the residents who struggle to get their medical questions answered."

A board certified doctor is always on site to diagnose and treat illnesses, including lab work, x-rays and even some small surgical procedures.

Khettry is working every day to make North Bergen healthier. Right now, the staff at AFC/Doctors Express is giving flu shots to patients of all ages.

"Now is the time to get vaccinated," Khettry said, "The CDC says the only way to protect yourself, your family and your community is to get the shot, many of our patients have never had one before."

The flu vaccine is available at the AFC/Doctors Express in North Bergen seven days a week.
