Activists present Bronx vendor with $13K check after produce thrown away

THE BRONX (WABC) -- Activists presented a vendor whose produce was thrown away with a $13,000 check.

Sanitation workers threw out Diana Hernandez Cruz's fruit and vegetables from her food cart in the Bronx.

Activists and other vendors raised money for two weeks after her produce was tossed.

There are also efforts underway to help her get a license to sell food.
