BRONX (WABC) -- Police are looking for a woman posing as a real estate agent and using Craigslist to scam people out of thousands of dollars in the Bronx.

Authorities say the suspect shows a basement apartment for rent located at 957 Vannest Avenue that perspective buyers find on Craigslist.

The victims all spoke to a man who instructed them to meet his alleged daughter, who received deposits from all three victims.

They were then unable to contact the real estate broker and were unable to get their funds back.

The first incident happened on February 25 around 10 p.m., when a 29-year-old man met with the suspect to see the apartment and handed over $2,850.

The other cases involved a 27-year-old woman who lost $1,900 and a 18-year-old woman who gave two $500 money orders.

Authorities have released a picture of the suspect, who is described as a black woman in her mid-20s, approximately 5-foot-5 and 185 pounds, last seen wearing a V-neck T-shirt, black blazer and blue jeans.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
