NEW YORK (WABC) -- Check out our blog of the New York Mets as they took on the Kansas City Royals in the World Series.
For one of the teams, a long drought will come to an end. The Mets last World Series championship came in 1986, while the Royals last won it all in 1985. The teams have met only nine times since interleague play began in 1997, with the Royals holding a 5-4 edge. The Mets haven't even visited Kansas City since 2004. The Royals have home-field advantage as a result of the American League winning this year's All-Star Game.
