That incident, which left the victim in critical condition, was caught on surveillance video, and police are hoping it will help identify the suspects.
The first incident happened last Saturday around 1:45 a.m. in the vicinity of Glenmore Avenue and 76th Street. Authorities say the three suspects approached the 25-year-old male victim from behind and knocked him down to the ground, before punching and kicking him in the head and body. They then fled with his cell phone and wallet.
The victim suffered two black eyes and numerous lacerations to his head, and he was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital in stable condition.
The second incident happened the next evening around 11:30 p.m. on 77th Street. As seen on the video, one of the three suspects approached the 32-year-old male victim from behind and hit him in the face with a rock.
He fell to the ground, where all three suspects punched and kicked him about the head and body before stealing his phone and wallet. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in critical but stable condition.
All three suspects are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s. They wore dark-colored hooded sweaters with the hoods over their heads.
