Woman in Bronx found fatally stabbed

MELROSE, Bronx (WABC) -- A woman was fatally stabbed in her Bronx apartment Thursday night, and police are questioning her husband.

The 38-year-old victim was attacked inside her East 164th Street building at around 10 p.m.

According to the New York City Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call about the incident and found a woman unconscious and unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to her torso. Emergency crews took her to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her husband is being questioned by detectives. He sustained cuts to his hands and chest.

Police said he told them that his wife was killed by two home invaders. He said he heard a knock at the door, and when he answered, two men burst in and stabbed his wife.

Police say no one has been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
