Dead body found in Russian Consulate

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police are investigating after a body was found in the Russian Consulate Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a 911 call of an unconscious man inside 9 East 91st Street on the Upper East Side around 7 a.m.

A 63-year-old man was found unresponsive with head trauma. Authorities believe he suffered a medical condition and apparently fell, sustaining a fatal head injury.

The autopsy is underway, but police say this does not appear suspicious or criminal in nature.

The investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.
