Former Connecticut police detective, ex-fiancee in hospital after botched murder-suicide attempt

BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut (WABC) -- A former police officer from Connecticut is in critical condition in Florida after a botched murder-suicide attempt.

Police say Billy Chase, a former Bridgeport police detective tried to murder his ex-fiancee and then shoot himself.

Chase allegedly shot the woman after ambushing her in a parking lot. He then shot himself. Both survived, and are in grave condition.
