TIMES SQUARE (WABC) -- A fire at a hotel in the middle of Times Square forced a big evacuation.
The fire broke out at the TRYP Hotel on 48th Street shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday.
It started in the vent of the kitchen and quickly spread.
The first and second floors of the hotel had to be evacuated.
Firefighters were called to the scene and managed to bring it under control in about an hour.
No one was seriously injured.
