NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Investigators are trying to find out what caused a two-alarm fire in Newark Saturday evening.
A woman helped a 58-year-old Newark man escape the burning building with only minor burns to both arms.
The fire, reported at 5:20 p.m., burned the first floor of the vacant building located near the corner of South Orange and Speedway Avenues.
It was brought under control about 36 minutes later.
The man is expected to be released from UMDNJ.
It hasn't been determined exactly why the man was in the building or what he was doing.
